Which one? They were all kind of different.

Yes and no. There are 2-3 layouts and some schematics in the files section. Then there is the whole Mayer amp thing which is a SSS with out the step filters. I've built 2 SSS and letf detailed build logs in my posts, others have done the same, play with "search" and you'll find what you need. IMO, it's better to follow a successful build than to search for definitive documentation.

Reminds me of the guy that always walks into the party late and asks? Who's got the dope.

At the very top of the "Dumble files section" there is a post that says "Steel String Singer #001/#002/#004
Layouts Schematics" That's a good one

" The psychics on my bench is the same as Dumble'"

It wouldn't be me though, I don't go to parties anymore.
But the reason I am asking is that there is a notification on top of those layouts saying "unconfirmed", so I was hoping for some advise here, since amps are part of my dope syndrome..

Well this forum is a party of sorts, and "dope" is another term for reliable information, so...
Seriously, I agree with dreric's comment above re following a successful build.

OK so to get this straight you want a 'confirmed layout" of one of the most expensive/coveted and well protected amps on the planet along with one of the most complex amps Dumble ever made that were all built differently ( Depending on the player) and only about a dozen exist? But the reason I am asking is that there is a notification on top of those layouts saying "unconfirmed", so I was hoping for some advise here, since amps are part of my dope syndrome..
Advice= Consider yourself lucky to even find a gut shot of an original SSS much less a "confirmed layout"
BTW. It was an analogy
Not implying you do dope or go to parties

The straight thing here is: I was basically wondering if the layout was complete in the sense that the finished amp would work when turned on? Not a verification on the truthfulness to the original amps.talbany wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 2:08 amOK so to get this straight you want a 'confirmed layout" of one of the most expensive/coveted and well protected amps on the planet along with one of the most complex amps Dumble ever made that were all built differently ( Depending on the player) and only about a dozen exist? But the reason I am asking is that there is a notification on top of those layouts saying "unconfirmed", so I was hoping for some advise here, since amps are part of my dope syndrome..

Oh if that's what you mean, I believe the 01/02/etc were all built before by forum members. There are multiple people that have built SSS's based on these layout's/schems and they work.Oddvar R wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 8:23 amThe straight thing here is: I was basically wondering if the layout was complete in the sense that the finished amp would work when turned on? If you're looking for confirmed as in verified that the amp will operate (and safely/reliably), I believe the two most "verified" in that sense are: Hartman's SSS layout, and Ryan Colgan's SSS #002 layout. Hartman's is available here: https://ampgarage.com/forum/download/file.php?id=54142, and Ryan's is available here: https://github.com/colganr/steel-string ... Layout.pdf. Which one to choose depends on what you're looking for--Ryan's is a faithful reproduction of #002, whereas I believe Hartman's is a blend of two different SSS amps (#004 and #002), not necessarily an exact clone of any particular one.

Thanks a lot, they look really beautiful, but a great deal of handful too...jfs322 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 2:08 amIf you're looking for confirmed as in verified that the amp will operate (and safely/reliably), I believe the two most "verified" in that sense are: Hartman's SSS layout, and Ryan Colgan's SSS #002 layout. Re: Verified Steel String Singer
Well I mean, SSS amps are known to be very complex amps. Were you expecting something different? If you’re not an experienced builder, I would recommend starting with something easier first...

Complexity wise, I would put them on par with a Twin reverb. The biggest hurdle with a SSS type build is having to fab the boards and chassis stuff. I know a few guys here have offered chassis but these are not like Fender amps where you can buy a predrilled board easily. In the spirit of the "real" SSS amps each one leaves a lot of personal interpretation and fab on the table to complete the amp. I think that's what make them special though.

So I have started sourcing for the 002 build, it will be my amp build no 17. I recon to be finished by Christmas.
By the way, what switch is this, never seen that one before?
