Dumble Switching Question
I know this might be sacrilege but is there a way to do the switching for the footswitch with a 1/4" jack instead of the standard? I thought I saw a Dumble like that once but don't know where I saw it.

Yes!
I have used Cliff type TRS (tip, ring, sleeve) sockets and stereo plugs for two relay switching systems many, many times including my Dumble'esq builds (OD, PAB functions).
Not sure if a greater than 2 function option using 1/4" size exists though.
Good luck,
Dave O.

Re: Dumble Switching Question
Thanks Dave O. Are there any examples of that type of wiring on here that you can point me to?ampgeek wrote:Yes!

Um Hmm
If you've got everything grounded right, use a regulated relay supply with pop cap and diode you can use the number two jack hole on old Fenders with a regular Switchcraft stereo jack (grounded to the chassis).

Lots of good information on relays and switching here:

Including how to use a stereo 1/4" jack for two button footswitch.

Re: Dumble Switching Question
The Fender amp I modified to ODS circuitry had two 1/4" jacks and I used them as follows:
Jack 1 (mono isolated ground)
PAB LED POWER to jack 'ground'
PAB RELAY POWER to jack 'tip'
Jack 2 (stereo grounded)
OD LED POWER to jack 'ring'
OD RELAY POWER to jack 'tip'
GROUND to jack 'ground'
That is still the usual 5 wires. I think there are ways of doing it with less wires than 5 but I don't know it off hand.

Thanks 10thTx and ic-racer that's exactly the stuff I am looking for.
