Bias Pots
Anyone know a good source for 25K or so panel-mount screwdriver-slotted linear pots?
CE only has the 10K Fender versions, and Weber has the 25K ones I like, but there must be other options out there..

Parts Connexion in Canada has a very substantial looking one from Connex.
Re: Bias Pots
I like the 25K PEC locking pot with short slotted shaft for that.

It has a locating pin to keep the pot from turning when you tighten the mounting nut.
Good idea to use it as I have ruined a pot before when tightening it.
I use two of these in my 100w Dumble clone.

Re: Bias Pots
I've been using a bunch of nos clarostats, pecs, and centralabs.
allied sells these pots by eti systems
http://www.alliedelec.com/search/produc ... KU=5220112
which are new production and readily available, i'm gonna switch over when my stock runs out of the nos stuff.

Re: Bias Pots
Why would you use that one when the PEC is cheaper and rated for 2W as well?

Re: Bias Pots
Oh I duno. Do you have a link to the PEC supplier?
I was just creating a list of options. I'm not about to run out of claro's for a while.
whoops sorry just saw your link above.
I hadn't gotten to digikey's catalog yet. Only mouser and allied so far.
Digikey's next.

Re: Bias Pots
Sorry I didn't mean to come off snarky.
I was just curious why you would want to pay more for a similar pot.
I have used quite a few of the PEC locking pots for bias and I like them a lot.
If you tighten the lock nut down just a bit it puts enough resistance on the shaft to prevent unintended movement but you can still fine tune the bias with the proper screw driver.

FYI those ETI's are PEC pots. I see PEC pots pop up under all sorts of re-branded names.diagrammatiks wrote:I've been using a bunch of nos clarostats, pecs, and centralabs.
