TwoRock EMMY PRO REPRISE..WITH CLIPS AND PICS.

Post by Mr Dumble »

As I said in the first thread, this E.Pro was modded by Bill with a few things I wanted. It has a switchable 330/500K treble cap, Dual reverb controls, 3 way mid and 3 way bright switch. Bright and Deep switch dedicated to cleans. The power supply was "sweetened", whatever that means. Also, midswitch put on foot control. This amp sounds AMAZING, and is one of my favorite D style amps. Its very very close tonally to Dumble #183. A little smoother, but not quite as harmonically rich. Its cleans, overdrive and reverb are excellent, and the loop which is switchable between parallel and series works fantastic too. Here are 2 clip I just did with the amp.

CLEAN CHANNEL: Les paul neck pup. straight in. SM57 straight into my Boss BR900.

Thanks man! I went in last night and adjusted the HRM, then popped a telefunken smoothplate in slot 1. HUGE difference! Smoothed it out even more, and brought out more chirp on the top. The amp is KILLING!!

Will you post a few clips showing the reverb on different settings with the clean and od respectively?
Thanks :)

Not sure this is what you were looking for, but I did a few choruses with the cleans and a lot of verb, then switched to the OD channel and had it (reverb) cut back a ways with the lead reverb control. If you want something else, just ask and I will give it my best shot. This clip also has the midboost on, (Which I only really like with a tele or Strat, this is with a LP) and much less gain than usual.

That was what I was looking for. Thank Tag. I like the clean with verb a lot.

that's an old technique that subs for sheilded wire. some early Mesa Boogies had this in them too. I think I've seen it in old radios or stereo equipment too.

Yea, my early TwoRock Custom Prototype had them as well. My later production models did not. Both sounded great with verly little noise.

:?: You did not know what they were until someone told you.

Maybe some guys should start using them again however. The amp is sitting here next to my computer and overhead fan, and is as quiet (more so?) than my Dumble was. :D

Glad it helped. :) The reverb sounds great up until about 3/4s of the way, then gets splashy. Very similar to a BF fender.
