Surely someones already done this along time ago on a Marshall or something but
I noticed several of you built the sd60. I tried this on my 100 watt version.
You have to use a stereo input jack for your high input or cliff type with a switch on the sleeve.

I decided the low input sounded much better with a bigger cathode bypass cap but I dididnt like the bigger cap when using the high input. So I wired a .68 uf in parallel with the stock .1uf except I grounded the end of the .68 cap to the switch of the high input jack. So I have the stock .1 when I plug into the high and .78uf when I plug into the low.

It definitely sounds better with the bigger cap on the low input IMO it was barley usable with .1 bypass cap

I edited my posts I didn't even have it hooked up like first described. I probably shouldn't even be working on amps now or driving or using power tools.

What a minute I think it will work with a normal ass cliff switching jack. Dammit I just wired up a stereo jack and it was a huge pain in the ass my brain is frazzled . Id like to say fuck it and go get real drunk.

I think if you just hook it to the ground switching lug on a cliff type(on the Hi) it will work.

Yes you're right I think that's how I had it wired to begin with my thoughts and actual words don't always coincide . its been a long couple of months

I'm guessing the next step would be to use that switch to feed the coil of a relay...?

Bear in mind that as the guitar lead is being inserted into that socket, the tip will be momentarily connected to the 'ring' connection used for the switching action.
So it may be bad practice to use this method for any substantial voltage / current switching, which might include a relay coil.
The Fender type jack socket with an isolated DPDT switch would be fine though for such a function http://www.hotroxuk.com/fender-pc-mount ... bj107.html
