Trying to source a couple scarce parts - help?

Post by markmalin »

Hi everyone,

I'm building #183 but I'm finding there are a few things I can't find. The 3-way toggle ON-OFF-ON for the bright cap switch is one. The next is the pilot lamp...where are people finding these? Finally, and this is kind of general, I need to source cover plates for Octal tube (power tube) punch outs for the 50W version. I have the chassis' punched out with all 4 tubes for 100W, but want to cover the spares up.

If anyone has sources for these (in stock), or if you have a few of these laying around and want to sell them, please let me know!

Thanks all!
Mark.

I think I used this switch though the part #'s have changed.

Hm... it's like a 10 week lead time. I originally found a nice Carling min switch on Mouser but the 3-ways were out of stock. :( I placed an order a couple weeks ago...but I've got an amp nearly done waiting for that switch.

Thanks, Darin! The covers are perfect.

Re the lamps, I did see those at Rad. Shak. but they were 120 V, not 6.3V (heaters voltage). But still....maybe I need to go that route.

I'm going to order me up a set of those plates! :)

Not sure if right diameter for your chassis, but this is what was used.

Look at the 124 pics.

These are the guys I bought from Hoffman and they're way too small for the chassis punch out, unfortunately. I bought the chassis pre-punched.

I have used these holders which allow you to use your favorite LED color.

Also, you don't need a 6.3v LED, just a conventional LED and use the 330R and Diode.

Where do you get these guys?

Mark.

What's the hole size in the chassis for the LED?

I have both 3 and 5 mm bezels laying around. Would happily send one no charge if it'll help.

8)

Edit...

Probably have a bright cap switch too.

Deric, if you'd be willing, that would be awesome. PM'd
