Gibson - who's chassis are you using? Or more to the point, what are the exact dimensions?

I have a matching head and 1x12 for my D'Lite from muchxs. They are built to order and excellent quality. I am very happy with both, and muchxs was easy to work with.

I haven't seen any posts in the For Sale/Trade forum from him in a while. You could send him a PM, but be patient because I don't think he spends a lot of time on the web these days.

I recently bought a OTS cab from Nik for a chassis I got earlier. As I recall it was about $225 with shipping, I think he gave me a little break since I bought the amp from him (this was before I became a dealer/ service center). He did mention that because of the size the shipping was a bit high. The quality was great, the tolex is a bit thinner than a Fender cab but I found it to be just fine. I had also bought a cab from the guy mentioned in an earlier post that sells on ebay...very dissappointing.
So who makes an accurate copy head cab?

The chassis is the one from natchanis in thailand (i think). He has a site on the internet. It's the D replica, at least as far as cosmetics go. It's the 80's style one. The dimensions are just slightly under 19 1/4 X 8 3/4 X 2 9/16.

Thanks MCA. That cost for shipping sounds more reasonable. So the weight on his site is a mistake. The only problem is the chassis i have is not his chassis. As someone else here mentioned his cab may be slightly too small for the chassis i have. I may email him to find out what the dimensions are for his chassis. I gave the dimensions in my post above for the Nan chassis.
Good to know you are pleased with his cab though. The cabs from the guy on Ebay for the OTS didnt really look the greatest. But again that's also for the Ceriatone which my chassis may not be able to fit into properly. I figured as far as "replicas" they should be fairly standard but i guess there may be differences between them. It's looking like i may need to go with a custom build.
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
And Happy Thanksgiving to you Canadians on here. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Maple Cabinets for ODS

Post by RJ Guitars »

Below is a photo of the Maple Cabinet that I mentioned. These are made for a 19.25 x 8 x 2.375 cabinet... although I can get them in any size.

I had these made so that tubes up or tubes down works with the same cabinet. For myself I've found this style of handle to be extremely good.

thanks!

I put a Natchanis chassis in a Nik cab no problem.

Here are two pictures of a head cab I recently built for one of Nik's amps.
There is also a matching 2x12 cabinet.
The set turned out quite nicely.

Holy Moly!

That is some serious flames!

I'd be afraid to take that out of my house.

What kind of clear coat do you use on those?

I have a Ceriatone cab that anyone on this forum can have for free, but they would have to pick it up (central Jersey). It weighs about 18 lbs! I think it's made from some form of nuclear plywood :D . I had a nice replacement made out of pine and lost 8 lbs. Pine is also better for absorbing energy if it's dropped though it's also more likely to dent. Fender used pine back in the day.
