Some old clips and Normsters backing

I was digging through my archives and found this really tasty backing courtesy of Normster. The changes are the same as the famous tune Footprints (in other words, just a C minor jazz blues)

Here are two takes from last year using my Fender 75 chassis-Fuchs/Lerner mod. I was surprised by how much I dug the tone. Has a real sweet quality. The speaker is a Celestion G12-65. What do you guys think of the tone?

Nice sustain without being oversaturated, and a nice transistion from less to more saturated.

It might be the recording, but the attack does not have the snap of some of your other more recent recordings.

As usual, great chops with amazing ideas and tasteful choices. I wish I could play like that! Maybe if I had a better sounding amp....

Thanks guys.... I was going through the Fuchs loop. Dampens the highs.... But still a nice tone!

It's been awhile since I've heard those clips. Your 75 has always sounded great to me. What it lacks in complexity it more than makes up for in sweetness. Of course, you f'in guitar gods can make anything sound good.

I've never been able to play like that, I just don't hear the harmonic content the way that Scott does.

I've thrown my 715P caps in the bay. Time to order the right stuff.

I've decided that the caps are not as critical as I used to think. I've used PS, 715's and the little blue xicons. Overall they all sound about the same. My best sounding amp now has a combination of all 3 types. More important is the plate load resistors and the pF range caps. These must be Vishay-Dale 1% metal film and ceramic.

Check out Normster's layout for the Bassman. My guess is that you could use that for the 75 also.

Fuchs' can do the conversion but it's pretty big bucks.
