Faceplates for an amp.

Post by JamesHealey »

Anyone know where I can get a faceplate made for an amp? obviously a one off and not a regular size?

Europe/UK places are better but i'll buy in the US if it's the only way.

James

I've tried all sorts of places in the UK and now use Jeanne at BNP Lasers in the States. Ridiculous to have to go that far but she's great to deal with and the prices are good, even factoring in the shipping.

Plus we're both Corel Draw users, so I can draw up my artwork ready to go straight into the laser software.

If you find somewhere else though, let me know as it would be useful for the odd rush job.

The prices are on the web site for the faceplates. Then just add USPS or whatever carrier you prefer from their web sites. She sends them in either poster tube type packages or the USPS triangular boxes (like a Toblerone bar) that are just bigger than the faceplates, so that'll give you an idea of the package size.

Exactly. I use reverse-engraved plexi panels so I use one layer for engraving, one for cutting, and one for the shape outline.

I also use the same original drawings for getting my chassis laser cut and folded, so it's really nice when the faceplates drop on absolutely perfectly.

She can also do some other materials like alumamark (like Marshall metal panels) or even wood if you want to get an authentic Wreck look.

:D I have used this company with success for my faceplates, www.schaeffer-ag.de You design your faceplate with their software and send file to the company. It takes a little to practise how to use software, but even me (53 years old) learned it after some minutes. Plates are professional looking and they make them also of plastic. Harry

Hullo mates,

My heritage is English and I drive a mini... can I join in a UK discussion?

For the guys here stateside... and a few across the pond, I've been having custom faceplates made at a local shop here. The results have been quite good and they will apply any text or logo that I supply to them (they won't do perverted stuff). I keep the standard Wreck sized templates ready to go in both Cherry and anodized aluminum.

The text/logo can be machined or etched, depends on your preference. Machined looks awesome but is not cheap.
