I thought I saw a similar thread on here but I can't find it using the search function.
Anyways... with the TW volume at about 1 o'clock I play a single sustained note. It sounds good, with the overdrive/distortion riding on the note. As the note fades a point is reached where the distortion cuts out abruptly rather than fading into nothing with the note.
It is much more noticeable with the bright switch engaged, in fact with bright switched out the distortion fades nicely with the note.
Adjusting bias of the power tubes does not affect it.

Re: Distortion cuts off as note fades
Well I wouldn't expect it to totally fade to nothing in a fully distorted state. The only amps that might do this would be amps that don't clean up well at all no matter how much you lighten up the signal. Still, it should fairly smooth and I never noticed anything in this department that hit me as odd with my original Express. I suggest posting a clip as that would really be telling.

Re: Distortion cuts off as note fades
sounds like it could be blocking distortion to me.
Which with a wreck and the ammount of gain it produces, I would expect is a more common problem here than it is.
Could be a lead dress issue of amplifying really high pitch out of your hearing causing the amp to work too hard and cause blocking distortion.
could also be many other things.
