He touched the input jack. It's a sight gag. It's the same as touching the tip of a guitar cord. Still not a recommended activity, though.

I bought a pair of shoes from a drug dealer the other day. I dunno what he laced them with but I’ve been tripping all day,

Hmm you mean the amp builder who has been building amps since the 60's ?

Thats funny I know for a fact he has not.
I worked there for 2 years in the early days.

Right before the IRS came into the shop
which was an ice cream truck factory
and asked him about the taxes he had not been paying.

Thus the name kendrick which is his wifes maiden name.
He uses that to hide.

I would not let that guy work on a transistor radio.
He burned me out of my last pay check for 500 dollars.

If you had any idea of the people he has taken for
many many dollars you would agree.

How about the trainwrecks he built ?
lol

He took 100 grand of peoples money and had
hemroid surgery and bought hookers and blow.

You know when you screw people they never ever forget
Gerald webber.

He was selling meat and fish out of the trunk of a car
in houston texas before he became the amp builder from the
60s.

Biggest con man I have ever met.

Gerald if your on this page where is my 500 dollars ?
and i am not scared of your golden glove boxer threat either.

He was using that gag when i worked there
with chris ramey doing the covering.

Long long before will dyke went to work for him.

Will told me one day everyone including him
got up and quit.

They all quit him.
This was after I gave him the exact same advice
chris ramey gave me upon arriving there to
work.

watch your back.

I learned the hard way what that meant.

I sold about 40 grand in reverb units for him
while i was there and made the deliveries
to ups and was quality control.

When the clients in europe saw my name on the
tube configuration labels they bitched.

Gerald had a cow yelling this is my shop my shop
If anyone should get any credit for building anything here
it should be me.

Yea but Gerald you had sans moonlighting from TI
doing all your soldering so what was it you actually
did ?

oh yea con people out of money all day on the phone
and blow your nose right on the floor.

I sure could use my 500 dollars today.

Too bad it went up your nose and to those hookers.
Did your wife come back ?

He told vintage magazine he had been building since the 60s
and if they would give him free advertising
he would write articles for them...

They bought that lie hook line and sinker.
Nice con artist there.

He would have me come in early to cut the creedence speaker name
off all the boxes so no one could find out where he was getting
the speakers.

When he owed them 100 grand they cut him off.
Those are your kendrick black frames..
He had gold label kendrick stickers made
to cover the creedence labels.

He asked that i come in at 6 am and wanted me there on time.
I said thats great ill make more money...

he burned me countless weeks on pay while having
easily 100 grand in cash on the desk.

But he only wanted postal money orders
for the reverb units.

why ?
no paper trail..
no taxes.

I cant even believe he is still in business much less
claiming he has been building amps since the 60s.

when he was a fish sales man and meat salesman.
come on gerald get real already.

I quit when my wife was pregnant with our child
he is 18 now.

Thanks gerald for taking good care of us
when we really really needed it.

He should share a cell with bernie madoff.

I know where he is.
He wont ever up the money.

Someone will clean his clock someday.

Just keeping it real.

I dont know how the guy sleeps at night
after what he did to Ken much less
all those who paid 1000 down.

The only reason Eric johnson ever ever stepped foot
in the dive was because of me.

I took eric to another shop in pflugerville
and scored him a 58 gold top.

That guy and Gerald were buddy buddy.
going rate was 10% then to bring someone
in and buy something.

When I asked for my money there I was told
here is 200 dollars we think 10% is too much.

They called those two the fat boys from pflugerville
steve brown and gerald webber.

Brown opened his public shop off the check Ej cut him.
I was the reason for that.
He burned me too.

He was busted for 400 lbs of skunk weed next to a day care center.
His daughter was selling weed at school.
oops.

some how he did not go to prison for long and then
somehow there was a multi million dollar pot bust
in the same town..

shortly after that mr brown was back out with all his guitar and printing
equipment and open for business on south congress in austin.
Right above the continental club.

amazing how he just walked right out of prison.
can any one say snitch ?

Brown was found dead with a bong in his hand I was told.

I wish you could have heard the guys at Bogner laughing
over the facts of gerald webber amp guru from the 60s.

The other con gerald pulled was apprenticeship.

He would say work here for a year for free and
you get a free amp.

No one ever got an amp as they never lasted long enough.

I know someone here right now that would attend that amp show
for alot less than 500 bucks and knock gerald webber clean out of his socks.

I would rather just tell the truth because I can indeed back it up.
He conned chris ramey his own employee out of a tweed bassman
worth 2500 at the time for one of his harp amps...

Poor kid fell for that.
He quit gerald too as did will dyke and many many others
They all saw behind the green curtain.

The tech soldering there part time was named Sans
he was moonlighting from TI.

Gerald introduced him to gambling and cards
so he would just take his money during the weekends and
win his money back from that guy.

Sans I think got wise too... that was many moons ago.
he was a vietnamese guy who knew his stuff on soldering
and making the circuits look pretty.

I think Ill pass on going to the pig farm.
I like to tell the truth on the pig farmer
I have got my 500 dollars worth from just that.

The amp techs and builders I have made laugh off the bench
knowing he is a meat salesman and fish salesman
was worth the 500 dollars.

Money isnt everything you know ?
The truth though brothers shall set you free.

Yea terry was there after i was. You did not get the
song and dance about being his apprentice ?
I guess word got out about that con as well.

when gerald moved to the other shop
Will told me he would show up in the morning
for work and there was gerald hosing off
whores naked with a garden hose in broad daylight.

He would hose them down then hose them down
then hose them down again...

Nice guy he was buying those hookers with
the downpayment money people sent for
the TRAINWRECK amps gerald was gonna build.

Ken sent gerald a letter stating he was in bad health
I used to speak to ken all the time on the phone there.

That guy knew his stuff..

anyway Gerald asked Ken to send a letter so he could
have it in print so others would see oh yea i guess this is legit.

Gerald took the letter and re wrote it how he wanted it too look
then he posted a FULL PAGE ADD IN VINTAGE GUITAR MAGAZINE.

Thus all that money for hookers and blow and his studio and
roid surgery.

He paid cash for the operation his employee told me that.
I was long gone by then.

He also told me of the hookers and blow and garden hose
job he used to see gerald giving them when he pulled up
in the morning.

Great guy there really an upstanding amp guru from the 60s
lol

Gerald is a dale carnagie grad and was trying to force
those sales tactics on me then.

Gerald snapped a cork when he found out every amp that was sent to europe and beyond to the japanese were all signed by me on the tube labels..

You see i was final inspector of those amps and made sure they
looked like a million bucks not only that I took them to ups
at the airport every time they needed to be shipped on my way home.

When he chewed me out up and down in front of the entire crew
he said if anybody should be signing anything here it should be me

I said yea gerald you dont give anybody any credit here at all do you.
Old fenders had stamps on those with initials..
For quality control in case something came back not working
they could look at the stamp or initials and have them
fix it and explain what happened.

If no amps were returned no problem good job.
I quit that day told him to get fucked.

But before I did I signed all the other labels in the box
and mixed them in.

See I printed the labels and did his computer work
he had no idea how to run a computer.

I was proud of my work there so I felt like signing my name too it.

Nothing to be ashamed of and I was the one doing most of
the foot work including final assembly and testing and
delivering the amp to ups.

He stiffed me on my last paycheck.

Thats ok every large item amp that was expensive as hell
that went to the japanese which were really good ones
had my name in them.

yep a apprenticeship I worked for free for a month then caught on. I was doing repairs with my own knowledge and somebody who sent the amp in for repair had no clue that it was not gerald doing the repair. He seemed to be in his office all day ?

Sound familiar .........

In Pflugerville there was a strip club not far away from the shop and I'm sure that some money of your might of supported some dancers LOL LOL

If you do want the cash back, though, there is a whistleblower statute for taxes -- if your info leads to a recovery, you get a share. No statute of limitations problem on outright fraud.

That's ridiculous that I lived in Pflugerville for so long and knew of none of this! I also used to go with my dad down to the vintage guitar shop above the Continental Club (I don't remember the name, Austin Vintage Guitars maybe?) where we almost bought a 40's National Tri-Cone and a sitar. I remember sitting in the shop diddling around on some guys sitar and making him very angry when I broke off his flimsily mounted pickup .

Where was this weed bust you speak of (i.e. what day care)? Never heard about that one myself..
