I have been working on my Express Clone for sometime now, tweaking and tweaking. I have tried different Output transformers, tubes and speakers and have settled on something that sounds and "feels" great. I use the Pacific OT, with EL34s going into an open back cab with a G1265. It doesn't have huge low end, but provides an overall great sound. One aspect that is really nice is when I play it on the verge of overdrive. The OT responds in such a way that it feels like the attack is like walking barefoot on 12" thick foam, its wonderful. I get this by rolling back the volume control on the guitar. When the guitar volume control is full out, the amp is sings away. Its fantastic!
Have any of you experienced this same response?

Re: Express Touch Response
this subject always reminds me of a 5f4 tweed super i built for a guy. i went to see him play it on its first gig. after the first set he came right over to me and said "the notes happen instantly". ill never forget that.
