Is there an easy cap change to shift the frequencys toward the lower mids on the mid boost (deep) switch? Im using a ceriatone overtone with the lerner/ayan mods.
Im looking for a bit more fatness and bloom from my amp and IMO the lower mids (600-800hz) really make my guitar sustain and just give an overall sweeter tone
any help would be appreciated
thanks,

Mid boost frequency
It's true i've lost my marbles and i cant remember where i put them
Re: Mid boost frequency
If you are referring to the mid boost switch on the front and not the PAB.. you can increase the .002 cap coming off the plate resistor on V1a to .0047..Keep in mind this will change the range of the stack and also boost the mid frequency's with the boost off as well... if you want to keep that the way it is you may have to change the treble cap value..Try it without changing the cap first as you may like it...Good Luck

Re: Mid boost frequency
yes i was refering to the actual mid boost not the PAB. If it makes any difference im trying to keep the sound stock on the clean channel(when the switch is disengaged).
I'm okay with messing with the OD channel a little bit to fatten it up a little more. But im mainly concerned with the mid boost switch.
Also, not that its too important, but i have slightly modded this amp. I snipped the negative feedback cap on V1 for a fatter tone and also increased the V2b snubber closer to 800pF. the amp is also running a fender choke.

Re: Mid boost frequency
With .002 in series with 300 pf comes out to 260pf (Stock #124)
Go up to a .0047 you would need a 280pf give you 264 pf
if you want to boost the mids with the switch on and stock D with it off...Make Sense!!
