Whoooo Hooooo. This thing is kewl. Voltages still not quite where they should be, but it makes noise. Thanks to everyone here for a great job of assembling the endless material needed to take on this project. You guys rock!!!!! And, as a plus, I learned a little on the way.

Not a problem. With all tone pots "off," this type of tone stack grounds out the signal (it also results in both ends of the volume pot being at ground, so no sound at either end).marcoloco961 wrote:I also have an issue in the tone stack somewhere. With the treble, mid and bass pots all the way CCW the volume knob goes from nothing to a slight sound and then bac to nothing. As soon as you turn up any of the 3 tone knobs to 2 the volume knobs seems to function properly.

Thanks, I had re-checked my wiring and it all seemed to be in order. I decided to just play through the darn thing for a while. After a day of experimenting with the sounds that this amp has to offer as is, I chose not to "tweak" it in any way. The lower B+ voltages don't seem to be affecting the sound at all. It almost seemed to "come alive", the more we all played through it. Needless to say, it put a smile on the face of everyone who plugged into it. No red plating, bias stayed put well. Small hiss when volumed up hard, but nothing obnoxious.
I am going to a friends house tomorrow to make a clip or two. I will post them A.S.A.P.
Thanks again to everyone here for all your help.

Re: Double and triple check.
Here are a couple of quick clips of the first project that a friend of mine played and recorded for me. There are 4 clips showing the clean and distorted sounds.

Re: Double and triple check.
Thanks so much MCK. I came here and read all I could digest for almost 3 months before attempting this build. I felt like I knew this amp pretty well before I even decided to order the parts. I don't even play guitar, I am a bass player and an electronics buff. I just love the sound of this amp. If it were not for this site, I would have never attempted this build. I am so thankful for all the great people here who have dedicated their time to putting this site together and all of the people who come to the rescue of new builders with questions.MCK wrote:Those are great clips!!!
