Rich? What is the name of that Lazer etching co. in Philly?
Rich - Sorry, I have built a new computer and lost all my emails I was saving. What in the hey is that company called, the one where Jeannie works? Thanks!

OK, I finished this amp and here is the lazer work done by BNP Lazers. Jeanne was a big help, of course, and the turn around was very quick.

Re: Rich? What is the name of that Lazer etching co. in Philly?
Tom - Thank you. Yeah, BNP uses aluminum, .020 thick here. I wish it was a bit thicker, maybe .040 but BNP no can do. So I contact cemet the whole thing on and then become very thoughtful with the corners. (As you know, the chassis has the rolled edges at the 2" mark so the top and bottom edges - along with the corners are not really supported.) When Marshall used this same type material, the chassis was so much bigger than the head cab opening - plus the no lip bottom edge - that they could make the faceplate undersized, avoiding all the issues. Hmm. Well, the plus side is this ain't no Marshall.
So its a Rocket and XXX = 30 in Roman numerals. The Cowboy artwork has its reference to a country artist, and it was something that the amp owner wanted. Jeanne was able to size things very well I thought. Thank you Jeanne!
The other thing that you might notice is the Marshall pilot light, the 110 VAC type. Allyn is out of his TW type and I had to move on this. The good news is the chassis hole is perfect and the hookup is the same. It has a unique pair of mounting flanges on the back side, which is easy to work with, but I still put a spot of silicone glue on the backside to make sure it doesn't spin over time.
Also - and now I am boring you - but if you notice the surface of the Allyn chassis, you might see that it is somewhat polished. I had never tried this before but I have a hand oscilator sander and some special buffing pads I use on my gtr finish work. Any, it was a bit of work but it polished up pretty nicely. At least now I will no longer be in awe of those reworked AC30 and Marshall chassis pic from the Plexi Palace web site. Will I do it again? Hmm, maybe take it to a pro buffer next time.
It sounds great, too, which is the best part! Thanks again for the comment, Tom.

You know, I was going to ask if the chassis was polished.
I did notice that it appeared shiny on top.
Again, great looking build.
