Connect a top to a combo speaker?

Connect a top to a combo speaker?

Can I connect a top to the extra pins on a speaker in a combo? Or do I need to disconnect the combo cables first?

The wires from the combo can be left attached BUT You MUST disconnect the combo amplifier from the speakers There should be a jack/plug on the combo amp that you can unplug.

Damn it! I was hoping I wouldn't have to bother with that.

I've hot 2 amps that have the cables going into the combo without any jacks...
