Glad you figured it out. Each mistake is easily turned into a great learning experience that can be shared with others...

It's true, but wiring the input jack backwards is such a boneheaded move. Oh well, at least it was simple and not a fundamental flaw in the design or anything (what do you know, I CAN design a power supply!).

There probably isn't a person here who hasn't got a list of idiot moves of their own. Myself included... and I'm sure I'll make more along the way!Ripthorn wrote:Well, I think I got it... Again, thanks to everyone, you are very helpful and patient with the guys like me who might otherwise be the subject of ridicule.

Bonehead move or not, the troubleshooting that followed was a good experience, and hopefully increased your skill as a result.Ripthorn wrote:It's true, but wiring the input jack backwards is such a boneheaded move. My first build was perfect, except it didn't make a sound. Everything was "on", sounded like it SHOULD be amplifying my guitar, but it didn't. Turns out the only thing I forgot was the cathode wire on the PI tube. Duuuuuhhhhh.....
Check and recheck...learned that one.
