I was kind of curious about Alan's 6V6 set of tubes.

48-50ma per 6v6. either a misprint or he wants to sell a lot of tubes. Maybe his designs are triode connected, low plate voltage. Otherwise, I would not do it.
Re: 6v6 express
Just found this thread reading about express and 6V6.
My express which was born last night is now running on NOS tungsol 6V6's perfect matched pair both running at 25mA which is the bias pot full counterclockwise without changing the resistor and it sounds amazing! My LP jr. cleans on volume 3 and can go clean also on 5 if the tone control goes to 4!! Very good trick! That LP Jr. was rewired with 50's wiring. Thanks Glen!! also on the Jr. the tone control does the trick of the extra clean...I'm loving this amp!!

Re: 6v6 express
Yep that nice mid scoop/extra volume drop out of the tone knob really works nicely with the 50s wiring! It's perhaps even more dramatic on a P90 guitar than with a PAF. You might try a Sozo cap in your guitar too.
Re: 6v6 express
Yes Glen, u r right about that. That effect is more dramatic in the P-90 guitar that in the humbucker LP. I have real bumblebee caps in my 2 LP, maybe that helps too. I feel the amp a little bit too bright with 6V6's but I know also that the room where I play at home is a very bright room but no crazy bright, I still have a chance to use the first degree of the bright switch (up 100mf). Maybe the EL34's will make a bigger bottom and also 12ax7's (I have now new JJ' ec803) . In my clone the bright switch is diferent than Francesca, more like the layout in the building guide.
I would love to try also a pair of original tungsol 5881 that I have but I will do after I try EL-34's.
I can feel how hard is this circuit on the 12ax7s. Maybe using selected NOS with rings on the tubes to kill vibration or not placing the naked chassis on top of the cabinet would help too
