Thx for posting this. I just received my Coyote 1x12 yesterday. Excellent cab, well built and sounds great. I have a Celestion G12H80 in it now. I used it for rehearsal last night with an EL-34 Rocket like amp. Really nice nasty tone and the slant saves me from having to find a milk crate to put my amp on

Loaded one w/ EVM 12L (195.00 at instrumentpro.com used code AFF01 and got an additonal 5% off) the other I put and old JBL D120F in. Got both backs closed for now. I will be doing some experimenting including trying the Celestion G1265.

Coyote Cabs have really nice craftsmanship.

Re: InstrumentPro.com they drop ship from EV - took about 2 weeks to get the speaker. Really crappy customer service/communication.
I ended up buying my EVM from Audio Depot. $147
I got it in about 5 days.
I would deal with them again.
I also bought one from AMS, they're still at $229 there. I paid $194 for that one.

Glad you like it ... I think it is a bargain. The fact that I could adjust the dimensions a bit to match the head and other cab for a small premium was pretty nice, as well.

I contacted him and he sounded like he was pretty much open to anything you want.

That's cool in my book and makes him a more desirable builder.

But I wonder if he does any calculations on interior volumes to match the speakers specs with the enclosure?

Having built a few cabinets myself, I don't think it matters much unless you are porting ... assuming you don't get too small and it becomes boxy sounding. I added a bit of depth and width to design so the cabinet would match and it sounds pretty good.

I'm betting the old Fender builds didn't do a lot of calculations when the Super Reverbs and Twins came out ... just make them big enough to put the speakers in.

Now the EVM ported cabs ... I've had a couple ... tuned a certain way makes a bit of difference.

I agree, unported the dimentions don't make a huge difference as long as it's not so small that it become compressed.

I took the cab to an open mike night Wednesday where I play in the house band. Really sounded great except with the bridge PU only in boost mode (Loller PU's in an Epi Sheriton). The G12H80 gets pretty thin. I'm going to get some longer speaker mounting bolts and put in an Emi Delta Pro.

Really nice looking rig though. Cream/black sitting on a 4 space rack with the power conditioner/dumbleator/quadraverb.

Did you ever try the Delta Pro ... it's a lot like an EVM12L I hear? I know I tried the slant cab stack (see picture below) and ran it outside with two EVM12L speakers. All I can say is damn ... that was sweet ... a 33w amp outside. The night before I used 1x12 and it was great too.

For me the amp is totally different with the EVMs ... the G1265 just doesn't compare for my style ... although I've heard some great players using both. The EVM just fits me.

Yes, I've tried the Emi Delta-Pro and the EVM12L. The Delta tends to have less of the rich upper harmonics but a nice tight bottom end. The EVM has nice rich harmonics and a tad less of the fat lows.

I mounted the Emi last night but until I get it out I won't really know the verdict. At low volumes it sounds great, far thicker on the bridge PU with the PAB on than the Celestion.
