It been years since I've opened up a boogie, but they used to use standard Vactrols. I'd bet they don't want to talk about it because they are not compliant, and Boogie sells a lot overseas.
I've been building and selling a 3 relay board for a year or so, mostly for D'Lite type clone amps. There is a small pop when activated, but really not audible when playing live, and I don't think anyone recording would be changing channels anyway.

The suppliers I use in the UK that list them are reporting them as non-compliant. Tubes are listed as compliant because of the exemption.

this reads to me cds in switching?
Then there is this

At the worst case there are many request for exemption in audio switching so I dont think you would get in trouble if you plead your case that there is no replacement for instance

Re: Channel Switching?
You can do a 10ms mute to eliminate the pop but the best part to do this with is also non rohsampdoc1 wrote:It been years since I've opened up a boogie, but they used to use standard Vactrols. I'd bet they don't want to talk about it because they are not compliant, and Boogie sells a lot overseas.

Re: Channel Switching?
Thanks for posting those. That looks promising. Guess it'll be no different to NiCDs, where there is no equivalent high current battery so they've been forced to tolerate them under RoHS.drz400 wrote: exempt....

I'll see if I can get a status update from RS as they'll people devote to RoHS compliance as it's such a big thing here.
Re: Channel Switching?
No real secret you basically mute the signal at the phase inverter for 10ms just before the switch and releasing 10ms after. Boogie has a patent on one way LOL. This basic idea has been done in mixing boards for many years. You can see an implementation of this brute force done with a 4049 (I think) on an Egnater Roctron TLO50ampdoc1 wrote:drz,

Re: Channel Switching?
If you have ever taken the time(time I'll never get back!) going through the 20 LDR's in a Boogie Triple Recto switching network you'll see it there also. IMHO when you get to 20 you need a redesign!
