Middle control on Ceriatone OTS

Post by Seemoore »

Not getting a lot of range from this one control.
The bass and treble start to be effective very early but I have to have both of them all the way down to hear what the middle control is doing to the tone, very subtle, is this normal?

Well, the tone controls aren't parametric so turning the bass and treble down while adjusting the mid isn't going to tell the whole story.

That being said, it can be a relatively subtle control. Check to see what Nik put in there - if it's a 250k linear, you might want to swap in a 250k audio taper.

It's a 250k audio.

To the amps defense I haven't had the chance to play it in a band at a reasonable volume.

And I'm not saying it soumds bad, not at all, it's actually one of the better sounding amps I've owned.
I just wanted to see how much range I could mget out of it.

I prefer a 100K audio with that stack.
