A .1 with a 2K pot, ouch that would be pretty bad, trust me I would have noticed that. No, it's a 1uF for sure.
Ive checked the tone stack and everything looks in order. All values are correct and the pots are correct. All switch wiring is as the layout diagram.
I did notice an amount of scratchiness on the volume pot (first stage). I checked for DC and found that there was about 0.9V leakage on the treble cap. It's normal to see a few mVs DC leakage, but 0.9V is pretty high. I'm just about to change this and will report back on the findings.

A bad treble cap was the cause !!
Something everyone should be aware of, dont ever assume a scratchy pot is a bad pot, it's usually a sign of a leaking cap giving rise to a DC potential on the pot. Even brand new Orange drops and Sprague ceramics can leak.
I replaced the cap and actually did away with the mid boost that I don't need.
I just put a 330pF Ceramic in there. Sounds 10 times better already.
Dogears, thanks for making me look closer at the tone stack again.
Any more tweaks you recommend for HRM ?

+1. Both tones are very useable. In non HRM, the boost is by far not as drastic as in HRM and indeed only the boost does make the HRM amp sound great. Scott, you were absolutely right, thanks once again!dogears wrote:
Non HRM is much different. It sounds great with both regular and PAB modes. Once again, Gill recently observed Robbin and his recently re-done Dumble and it most likely was Non HRM as Robben used regular OD much of the night while occasionaly turning the PAB on.
