First post, wreck kit's from ceritone (pool) queston.
Hi! First post very cool site. I was wondering about the liverpool working chassis less tubes kit. My skills and time are in question, I can do champs and deluxe's but am afraid to get in wreck-dom just yet. I wold rather it
work off the bat, and then tweek on it to learn more about wreck's, then maybe do a francesa express ground up.
Does anyone have one of these?(Express, or pool) how does it stand up to a wreck tonally? clean to lead, proper tranny's, etc? It's been wonderful finding this site!! SaNdMaN

Hi Sand, I haven't heard Nik's Kit. Maybe ask if he will post some clips. I will tell you that Nik is a great guy to do business with and I recommend him. He made the chassis that most of us here use. Good prices and service.

very cool allynmey! I know just from first lurking after i signed up I heard good thing's about ceriatone. I know for espress's, mouses, tranny's are the closest, but if the iron is ok for the pool kit, i think it's a safer betAllynmey wrote:Hi Sand, I haven't heard Nik's Kit. I have been called a LOT of things, but "mouse" -- that's a first! I tend to be boisterous and ill-tempered in person.sandman wrote: mouses, tranny's are the closest, but if the iron is ok for the pool kit,
However, if you're building an espress instead of an express, maybe I can be "Mousse"!

Re: First post, wreck kit's from ceritone (pool) queston.
I've heard nothing. Someone built an express kit, and it's in another thread. That's the first I heard he was offering kits.
He's probably using the 36watter iron. Just drop him a note and ask. If you're not interested in doing a part search and all the hand work, that's the only kit I've heard of, so you really don't have a choice. Build it and then report back here how it came out. I can't see as you'll go wrong considering he has a reputation for quality parts.

Thank you brother. Moose, how does the 36watter trannys differ from yours? I am sure there not quite the TW spec yours are, but any learn'inMoose wrote:I've heard nothing. Someone built an express kit, and it's in another thread. That's the first I heard he was offering kits.

I don't know. I'd guess different B+ voltage, probably a 4K OT -- ask Ceriatone and he'll straighten you out. Specs for the heyboers are at:
http://toneslut.com/transformers/index.html
Just compare and contrast.
Re: First post, wreck kit's from ceritone (pool) queston.
Niks transformers are different for his amps than the Heyboer ones used for the 36 watter. The 36 watt heyboer PT would be a little bit much for the voltage in a liverpool..since it uses SS recto. The more correct voltages would be from Moose's set.. the 260-0-260 tap.

I got an Express kit from Nik and use Moose's transformer set. I've put the the whole amp up for sale but keep waivering...I can't make a decision. I love it, but it's really loud, and it's a whole lot of fun.
