I would just like to start a thread about this amp. I appreciate any information or soundclips that any of you can provide.

Are there any clearer shots of the front panel labels?
Might you know what the various knobs and switches are?

Re: The Songwriter 30 "Inger"
I believe there is already a topic on this. It uses an octal phase inverter, I think the 6su7 if I remember correctly. sorry 6188
anything worth doing, is worth doing right
Re: The Songwriter 30 "Inger"
I started the other thread, but it didn't seem that any info was known, othar than what the pics have shown. I thought the thread with Inger in the title would help if someone only knew it by the name Ken gave her...

We know she had 12AX7, 6188, & 4xEL84.
The controls are what is interesting. I assume that the first knob to the right of the input is the Volume. Then are the two switches. Are they two or three way? Are they mid and bass switches? Is the last knob for cut?

Re: The Songwriter 30 "Inger"
I have a couple of observations.
It's either got a Monster power transformer *or* a puny OT for a 30W.
Although scaled next to the el84's the OT appears to be normal.
I see a what looks to be a choke as well.
I don't see any tube rectifier so we can assume diodes.
One possibly two gain stages into the 6188 PI.
The switches might bring in a gain stage.

Re: The Songwriter 30 "Inger"
Is this the amp that was supposedly built for maximum clean headroom?
Re: The Songwriter 30 "Inger"
ah yes...what an amp
I still remember the day.
For a rich distortion Ken used his green BJF pedal
Best amp I had ever heard. I liked it more than reality check

Does anyone know where it lives now? Are there any recordings?
