RJ,
Here was my thinking on the Rocket template.
I wanted to maintain the socket location for the recto.
The only edge dim. I could see was the 3/4" from the back edge on the OT. So for uniformity I used that for the PT. it does move it 3/8" closer to the end of the chassis but, only .062 closer to the front.
I also wanted to use the same center line on the PT/OT instead of moving the OT towards the center of the chassis having the ends in line.
I'm thinking moving away from the heat of the recto by 3/8" PT and centering the OT (gets that away from the heat too) ain't all bad.
I was more worried about that heat than the air around the outside I guess.
I do have a couple of pics of what must be one of Ken's builds. An Express that looks like the PT/OT are real close to the edge.
The choke I centered on the board instead of using the center line of the center mounting screw on the board. Looks nicer inside.
I moved the choke further under the board as I think the mounting screw would be right under the cap stack otherwise. It could go a bit more under the board if one wanted. Some of the builds I see have a big 4 mounting hole choke. Got no clue on that hole pattern or location or where they came from.
So that was my line of thought. One has to go with what looks right on there minds eye that works for them.
Hey, it's all good.
Thanks,
Gary
