Re: Meet "Justine"
I think that you may run into some noise issues- your lead dress around the preamp board is "non-Ken"...
The wires that cross the heaters should be "humped" up and over to avoid proximity. You have them laying directly on them. And others are done quite differently from the real wreck, which may or may not cause problems.
Go ahead an fire her up, but if you are getting lots of hum, squeal or instability, I would go to the files section and take a real hard look at exactly how KF wired things... most of the time is important as this amp is on the verge of instability inherently....
Sorry, just trying to help!

Re: Meet "Justine"
Thanks Ron, that should be easy enough to redress. I can't wait to put some heat to that amp. How do you like the pilot lamp against the leather faceplate?

Re: Meet "Justine"
Thanks. Justine is the name of a character in a book that I read this year.
The name seems to fit with the design; I have a plank of quilted cherry for the cabinet. I know, quilted cherry can look splotchy. Hopefully I can seal the grain to prevent as much of that as possible. I'd to get started on it this week.

Re: Meet "Justine"
Kregg-
The light looks pretty snappy!
Many amps are pretty forgiving with lead dress, but this one sure isn't. Take a hard look at KF's work on Franny, including how the pots are wired. Be aware that the caps on the bright switch on Francesca are wired wrong- they go to the right lug and the switch to the center.. it's a documented mistake....

Is that a leather faceplate? Whatever it is, how did you make it?
Everything looks great to me, hope it fires up well!

Re: Meet "Justine"
From your description I think it's wired up right (I went off V1.5). The only thing I did differently was to run separate wires to the volume pot ... I'll find out if that poses a problem soon enough.Ron Worley wrote:Be aware that the caps on the bright switch on Francesca are wired wrong- they go to the right lug and the switch to the center.. it's a documented mistake....

Those maniacs at *Ceriatone! Next time I'll get a chassis from Allyn or RJ.
I have my ear on a Rocket 66 or a Liverpool.
*They made the boards too, but, I had to modify them a little. The rest is all my work, trannies are Tonesluts.

Kregg,
I think my ceriatone chassis is full of holes too. I used two of allyn's so far before I even knew rj had any.
I would get a chassis from both because you know you have to build two more trainwrecks don't you? Start saving up for the tranny sets. The trannies sold by the forum guys are the best and at a price a working man or woman can afford.
