RANT!!!!!!

Post by Voodoo_Man »

Man, I've about had it with Californica. I go to the State tax website to check the status of my refund and what does it say: "Your return has been received and processed, however, a refund cannot be issued at this time. Due to the state’s persistent cash flow problems, the State Controller’s Office was forced to delay a number of payments, including those for tax refunds. State refund payments will resume as soon as cash becomes available." What a bunch of BS. I GOT A FRIGGIN' CASH FLOW PROBLEM. What a bunch of IDIOTS! Quit paying medical bills for the illegals, and givin' them welfare checks and maybe they wouldn't have a cash flow problem. And fire some of those clowns that call thenselves judges....................the ones who overturn laws that we vote into existence. And park some of those school buses I see driving around empty all day. I didn't have no school bus picking me up, nor did I get free breakfast or lunch either. This states gone absolutely sideways. I suppose I gotta wait till they collect enough tax revenue this year to pay what they legally owe from last year. I absolutely will not overpay this year. and when they send me a bill, I'll tell'em:Your letter requesting payment has been received and noted, however, a payment cannot be made at this time. Due to my persistent cash flow problems, I am forced to delay payments for state tax obligations . I will resume payments as soon as cash becomes available." Rant over. Back to soldering.

God bless,
John

Happened to me a few years back, too. I got a state tax credit for next year's return. Thanks for paying us too much, Jim.

43 years ago when I joined the workforce I came to the realization it was not a good idea to let the gov. use my money. I have always had to pay. The closest i ever came to a refund was last year on my state taxes which ended up $0.00 owed or refunded.

Adjust your deductions so you owe. If you need to you can even have an additional amount withheld for a length of time to lessen the amount you have to pay. But, always have to pay.

Jim, your the first person I've talked to that's ever said that. I've lived in Californica my whole life and never heard of it. My 88 year old dad has been here over 60 years and neither has he.

Gary, that's exactly the first thing I did. I'm retired from the Federal Government and the least amount they will let me have deducted for the state is $5.00 a month. Spend my $60 wisely Arnold. :P  Man, the terminator would really have a "cash flow problem" if everyone did that. Seein' how my state government (what a joke) likes to spend money they don't have, the deficit would probably be in the trillions.:

Voodoo_Man, yeah, it shocked me, too. Can't remember the exact year, might have been in 2001-2003 before Arnold took over. That was also the year that they tripled the car & truck registration fees. Then Pete Wilson (was that his name?) was yanked as governor, Arnold came in and repealed that DMV registration triple bump.

I had a unique situation where I wound up with a large tax credit due to fraud, and the state just didn't have the money to pay me what they owed me, so I got a credit. It was just one year, and it's since been burnt up, but I sure looked at my accountant funny when he told me I had a tax credit voucher (or some such terminology) for the State of California.

I'm guessing not too many of you have had a 300,000 plus tax credit between the Feds and your state, though, so my situation was anything but typical.

That's total BS. Are they going to give you interest on the amount of time you have to wait on your money. Or how about charging the state a late penalty for not refunding your money in a timely fasion.

Gray Davis was the guy Arnold led the charge to have removed. Funny thing is, the state is worse off for it according to the some pundits.

Holly smokes! $300,00. I'd be gettin' out the assault rifle if they owed me $300,000.

I don't think so. Here's what their FAQ site says.

"Am I entitled to receive interest because of the delay?

It depends upon the length of the delay. For individual taxpayers, interest on current year refunds is only paid if your refund is not issued within 45 days after April 15, or the date that your return is filed, whichever is later. If you are entitled to receive interest on a prior year refund, you will receive it when your refund is issued."

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that their trying to figure a way to screw everyone out of refunds. Not only that, if my propery tax payment is 1 second late, I have to pay a penalty. Same with my car registration or anything else you owe the the state. Anyone ever lived in Wyoming? I hear those "ole" boys don't put up with this kinda BS.

John

Yikes! It was Gray Davis. That's when my wife and I packed up and moved out of Sacramento. Rolling blackouts, etc...... Got out before you guys ousted him for Arnold. I feel for you guys. I kept my professional license up until last year. I love the climate and terrain - the politics out there drove us nuts. I will likely not return to live there. If I recall when we moved there in the early 90's there was a cash flow problem and they couldn't pay the bills. The answer is - don't overpay.
Here's hoping you get YOUR MONEY soon.

Yup, one guy does nothing and the next guy does the wrong thing. You wouldn't happen to live in Wyoming? I don't think they even have a state tax. But the FBI is always watching.

Nope, Nebraska. And sorry, I already have my state return back. We first moved from Sacramento to the Kansas City area on the Kansas side. Kansas is still withholding their state income tax returns. And Sibelius has just been tapped by Obama for HHS! What a crock....

When is the "Tea Party"? I'd love to participate.

We the people have lost control of our country. I voted for the recall, but Arnold is no better.

Unless we rise up and FIRE (vote out) the idiots in Congress, and the State Legislators, we're asking for more of the same. (or worse)

I just browsed over an article about that Sibelius character. This county's in big trouble if that's the's best Caboomo can come up with. That is a crock. Then we got Hilary as the secretary of state. She's an idiot. How about the bozo attorney general who thinks were all cowards for not wanting to move to the ge-toe. Why doesn't he move to the ge-toe. I'll tell you why. He doesn't want to subject his family to drive by shootings, muggings and drug dealers, thats why. Another idiot.

It's a coming. People can only take it in the shorts for so long before they react. Just drove by the high school and another full size school bus with 3 kids on it. My dad asked................."Why do you think they tint the windows? I see that sh*t all the time."

If you had a child who was as reckless with money as the government is, you would quit giving him money, right :?: :!:
We need to do the same thing with the government: You get NO money until you learn when NOT to use it :!:

I know how you feel, my mother lives in Cal.

It's no better up here in the North Country.

The guys running my wife's Teacher's Union pension plan lost 40 billions this year and are not accounted for...

They might get a bonus for all we know...

There's too much corruption if you ask me.

Luckily, the Chinese people are big savers and have lots of greens...we might be able to borrow for a few more years...

I'm going to stay under my bed and suck my thumb Jim Carey's style until it gets better.
