Latest Combo Cabinet

Post by markmalin »

FWIW - I wanted to show you guys a few pictures of the cabinet I designed to house my new chassis design. (Actually, the chassis in this picture is the old design, but all I have to do is remove the face and reinstall a new one with a larger cut-out and I'm good to go.)

Ditto on the good looks, to really put a cherry on it lightly stain the inside with something purplish.

Really nice work Mark! What kind of speaker have you got lurking in that cabinet?

Right now it's a Jensen Jet Blackbird. It's a good sounding speaker - nice sparkly cleans and it has some bite to it. On the O/D side it can get a little fuzzy if I drive it too hard, but if I back off on the O/D gain it has a good punch to it. I'm trying out a few Jensens, but I think in the end I'll settle on a Celestion. I'd love to try something other than the G12-65, but don't have the cash to do that ;)
