Hi everyone,
I am at that crucial step when I am drilling the chassis to install the components of my Express build. I plan to install a VVR2 in there, but I find that the placement of the board is a bit tricky... I know Dana used can caps, but I plan to use the Mallorys...
So, I think I might install it in the way shown in this picture.. I will find a way to 'stick' the board on the front of the chassis... I know cap C11 would be in the way, but I could bend it's leads to it is perpendicular to the fron of the chassis.. As far as the mosfet for the VVR, I would install it on the 'bottom' of the chassis, right under the presence pot.. The VVR pot would be right next to the standby switch...
So, I am wondering if such a layout, although a bit tight will work??... If not, where do you suggest I move the VVR board.. I could place it at the other corner of the chassis so it would be on the back and to the left, but I am afraid that the long wires that would be neede would create many problems...
So, let me know what you think[/img]

It should be fine there.. if it fits there.. why not mount it on the side of the chassis behind the power board.. then run wires to the pot on the front.

I'm currently doing my first express build and putting the VVR2 board wedged right between the cap stack and the preamp board. It's going to be tight, but the board is also mounted directly to the pot which is right beside the presence pot.
Hopefully it works without too much problems!!!
