Express looking different

Post by Theo »

Hi , with the help of info on this forum I made a Express amp witch looks a bit different than the original , the amp is working fine and sounds good :) but I was suprissed by the amount of gain  and its sensitivity for microfonic tubes .(found some good ones)
Hope you can understand my english  and I hope you like it , there are some pictures on this page http://www.blue-company.info/gear/Expre ... index.html[img:500:364]http://www.blue-company.info/gear/Expre ... s_zij2.jpg[/img]

Thanks for the kind words :D , it is not the most practical design (it can't be used as side tabel  ) but I like the sight of my tubes glowing :) thanks to the detailed info on this forum I could concentrate on its looks .

That would look very cool with a chrome cage over it. Kind of like an old vintage hifi amp. Nice!

The original idea was to make a fiberglass black cover (kind of a bakelite '30 radio look), but sinds that is a lot of work and I didn't know if I was going to like the amp (now I know I do :D ) I settled for this .

P.S. I don't know why my posting's appear dubbel on this forum ,sorry about this .

Cool, it has a mod 60's Sci-Fi feel. If you ever build another look here for some cool CF veneer: http://www.dragonplate.com/
