Hello,
I am currently planning to build an express amp from parts that were cannibalized from two or more different amps, nonfunctional, that I have been given to work on. I should have all of the parts except for a few jacks potentiometers and power resistors. I'm trying to do this as cheap as possible so would it be possible to use something like radioshacks pref board instead of spending the time it would take to order and make a turret board, as I'm attempting to do this without spending too much money. I've never attempted this, and never thought to attempt this until now so if it is a horrible idea let me know.

Re: Express Build questions
As long as you read all the warning about the danger of lethal electric shock working on amplifiers, learn how to keep yourself safe, and proceed cautiously with plenty of advice, you'll probably survive the experience. Radio shack perf board should be fine. Some people have even used formica
You want something that doesn't conduct electricity and doesn't absorb moisture that might improve its conductivity. Eyelets are a cheap but effective substitute for turrets.
Just proceed cautiously and use all the information you can find on this forum

Re: Express Build questions
Alright sounds like i'll be trying that then. I've built and worked on amplifiers before using turret board so I understand quite a lot about the dangers. I should start building soon then.
