turret

is there any thing i can use as turret something one could buy local. iv got a box of old tube pins i got at a yard sale. they look like they'de work. any ideas???

I have no idea what you're asking (nor for the diode question). Maybe I'm tired, but could you perhaps be more clear?

im asking for thing to solder to make preamp boards.

You can use 1/8" eyelets instead of turrets. If your board material is 1/16" thick. Eyelets are what Fender used to use. and they are cheap. You should be able to find them at Michaels Craft store. for about 2 or 3 bucks per hundred.

Make sure they are not aluminum eyelet. Brass or unpainted tin will work. I use the brass ones from a sowing supply store. The ones used to make women belts. They are a little large and take a lot of solder but work great for old fender type complexity circuits.
