Thanks for the suggestion! I'm looking into the Marstran 100w OT as well. As far as I know, a lower primary impedance means a later onset of distortion(?). Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
The tone reference I'm using for the build is here. I subscribe to the consensus that clips don't provide an accurate indication of the live sound, but here's the setup, if that helps. It goes strat>Fuzz Face>MXR1500>MXR Doubler/Flanger>Fullton-Webb>slant 4x12 w/ Heritage G12H30's series/parallel @8Ω. As for proximity to the camera, the cabinet is facing the back of the keyboardist in the foreground.
My build is to be that tone w/PAB and op-amp/FET. Showman PT, HAD's reverb circuit/transformer, and I picked up the last Radio Shack filament transformer in town, per Gary's posting
. With that, does that amp sound like a choke OR resistor setup? That's my next big question. (FWIW, it seem unorthodox to figure it out this way to me). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as always!
