Post by danotron »

I just finnished my second bulid, non-HRM. I find the clean channel to be thin and weak sounding. Any ideas on how to fatten it up?

Try a 390p treble cap instead of the 370p shown in the schema, then go for the (skyliner) 10n cap/250kA pot middle control in the tone stack. If it doesn't improve radically the problem might be somewhere else (layout, trafos,...).

Well weak and thin isn't much to go on.

Is it loud enough? But you just don't like the tone?

Your schematic is very similar to a D'Lite.

I would guess you have a wiring or component value error somewhere.

My amp is anything but thin on the clean channel.

Have you tried different tubes?

I agree with Tom. This schematic should give you a nice fat clean, the skyline might be a tad better but I'd doublecheck all your component values and wiring, somethings wrong.
