Who cares about the build? I dig that Robin's egg blue tolex!!!!!!!!!! 8)

Yeah where did you find this anyway, is this from John Sprung? Very cool. And I do like the layout as well. It looks like your guy did a great job. I am not so sure about the exterior hardware, i.e., the bolts/screws holding the back panels on and the chassis at the top and the baffle board? It looks like zinc plated steel somehow. Get some stainless steel parts to replace these I say. If they are SS, then good show - they just look a little odd in the pics then.

Have fun playing it, of course, and I hope it sounds as outstanding as it looks! 8) Good job!!
Most people stall out when fixing a mistake that they've made. Why?

Yeah, I think that too. :) I believe it came from Banzai Music Store ( http://www.banzaieffects.com/Navy-Bronc ... 23337.html ) - I was told from where it came but I forgot.

They could be zinc plated steel, yeah. Right, I'll change them ASAP - better safe than sorry.

As soon as I record some clips I'll attach them - it wouldn't be a complete review without the sound examples, right? :)

A question regarding heat - it runs hot, I guess just like a vintage VOX combo would. How problematic could that be in the long run? I'd like to give these tube retainers a try - http://www.banzaieffects.com/Tube-Retai ... 17663.html.

but what about a schematic , and some sound samples ?
its not true that americans have the best quality . ( i have lived in USA 4 years )
i think you have to know more about how the different part in tubes amp work to get it sound good . but to be on the safe side and if you have money to burn , then by your zozo and high cost parts . its more like having the biggest and most expensive car to show off i think .
look to tone lizard pages and then decide for yourself .
if the parts is of good regular quality i think that would be enough .
but i want to thank everyone here at these pages , i learn a lot and can sometimes give good advices to other builders .

...and here's the sound example:

Strat into a Rocket, "Volume" a tad below three (any louder and my room starts to dance). I've played with the tone section quite a bit, exploring different "jangle" settings.

Another sound example, this time with dirt pedals:

http://www.box.net/shared/k9o4ml0x8s

00.00 - 00.28 - Klon Centaur clone
00.28 - 01.14 - Roger Mayer Spitfire
01.14 - 02.00 - Green SOVTEK Big Muff

Celestion Vintage 30 pushed by a Rocket on "3" while on "Top Boost" channel will require some serious tweaking of the knobs, if you want to use dirt pedals...

One sound example with modulations:

http://www.box.net/shared/lavhepduoz

1) "Normal" (second) channel, some more drives:
- 00.00 - 01.12, green SOVTEK Muff -> Klon Centaur (Klon switches on and off)
- 01.12 - 01.36, Fuzz Factory

2) "Top Boost" (first) channel, clean sound:
- 01.36 - 02.30, Ross Compressor -> Boss CE-2 Chorus -> AD-3205 analog delay (switched on in that order)

Time for an audio test in higher volume levels:

http://www.box.net/shared/mgd8tmrd5e

Played through a 2x10'' cabinet w/ Jensen P10Q speakers. Guitars used: AmStd Strat, Gibson Les Paul Custom, Epiphone Pro Les Paul. Recording chain: Peavey instrumental mic into Artec mic preamp and then into laptop. "Guitar into amp" method. No further messing with the samples, I've just removed DC offset and normalized peaks at -0.1dB.
