Chassis, faceplate, and rear plate for an SSS inspired build

Post by RJ Guitars »

Hello Dumble forum,

If anyone has an interest, I'm going to have a small run of chassis' with faceplates and rear plates for an SSS inspired build. The chassis will not have any holes punched and no boards or schematics come with them. Should anyone want it, it is a golden opportunity should you choose to identify the right stuff and have the boards made up, sell some transformers, SSS parts, etc..

The faceplates will be professional units of 1/16" anodized aluminum with CNC milled lettering. Currently I plan to run 6 of these and will sell them for $160 a set. If these sell out, I'll increase the order to a dozen and adjust the cost to $155 each.

PM me if you are interested in this project.

Have you guys found more information about the SSS as in a schematic or layout?

We know a little... and maybe collectively we know a lot. I've seen the innards but there is not an official schematic or layout. Search for all the threads using SSS as the input and determine for yourself what we know.

You can get about halfway to the answer using the Twin preamp with an SVT output stage... then hopefully we'll have some help filling in the blanks.

Ok here goes from research...
Skyline
Hi Low filters are placed after the EQ Recovery stage.
Reverb driver, a reverb return amp, and a reverb/dry mix amp circuit
OT can be UL like SVT or standard configuration, ampeg, or sunn/dynaco iron, or musicman iron. 6L6 versions used Twin iron.

What are the dimensions of the SSS chassis that you are offering?

Thanks

These things are huge...26 inches wide and almost 9 inches deep. I scaled that from some of the posted shots that are available using a Google search.
