That cab is also perfect for some female guitar player. When women buy cars, they always only look the color which has to be red at least here in Finland.

That's what I'm thinking about doing. Make a template for the router.Kregg wrote:Damn! I wouldn't have lasted that long, I'd have whipped out the trusty router with a spiral carbide bit.
I just got back from the CNC guy. It will be about 2 - 4 weeks before I can schedule time on the laser cutting machine and computerized brake to make the chassis. So hopefully I can start supplying a pre cut/punched chass in a few weeks. I am also calling heyboer today to inquire about having trannys made. I hate the Hammonds not having a CT on the heaters.kec wrote:That's what I'm thinking about doing. Make a template for the router.Kregg wrote:Damn! Actually I am hoping that I will be able to make the chassis with all the holes cut out and bent for less money than I am paying to have the ones I am having made now by a local sheet metal shop. I am only paying for the time the machine is on and cutting holes plus a setup charge. Same thing with the computerised brake. The CNC guy figured it would only take the machines less than 2 minutes to cut out all the holes. I still have to check the price of a sheet of aluminum so it will be interesting to see how it comes out.Structo wrote:That would be great but I hope it doesn't increase the price beyond what many could afford. The neat thing about it was the afforability.
But it's your baby, and if you can make the $$$ more luck to you.
That would be cool... I've been following this thread avidly and look forward to being able to build one of these in the UK. I'm pretty sure that I can source equivalent transformers over here (Danbury Electronics and OEP make some quality products) but I haven't really got the facilities to make the chassis.I just got back from the CNC guy. That sounds great. Sign me up when you've got a fresh batch to go.UR12 wrote:I just got back from the CNC guy. Glad that did the trick!! I just got off the phone with Heybore and the new trannys are a go. They will be making custom trannys for the Lil devil. both OT and PT. They will both be a little beefier than the Hammonds and the PT will include the right iron for 50hz 240v operation for you guys outside the US. The heater will also have a CT and the current rating on the heater will go from 2 amps (Hammond) to 3 amps.kineteks wrote:I just got the 200 ohm trim pot for the virtual center tap and the .15R resistors to drop the filament voltage. Both worked great, the filaments are now running at 6.4 volts and the trim pot actually had a distinct effect on hum as it was turned through it's travel. The amp is pretty darn quiet now....
Oh, and BTW Dana sign me up for another one, I need one to keep at work!
