I know this amp has been discussed before - it it just me or is something lacking tone-wise? I know it's a camcorder recording - anyone heard it in person?
Speculation on how they did the dual presence?

Re: PV D style
Shouldn't be that difficult to come up with two pots in parallel and switch the wipers in and out. This would eliminate the popping. It also may only be an HF trim control.... that would make more sense and give the desired effect, cut the extreme top end.

If so, I'm sure they sent Gil a large royalty check....glasman wrote: It also may only be an HF trim control.... that would make more sense and give the desired effect, cut the extreme top end.

Re: PV D style
Gil would probably forward it to Dumble, he did it first in the 80's.heisthl wrote:If so, I'm sure they sent Gil a large royalty check....glasman wrote: It also may only be an HF trim control.... that would make more sense and give the desired effect, cut the extreme top end.

A tad harsh to my ears.heisthl wrote: it just me or is something lacking tone-wise?
Re: PV D style
You can see it in the Dumble files section in the Dumble Deluxe, I believe. It is on the back.Hotrod Ford wrote:actually even back in the mid 70sglasman wrote:Gil would probably forward it to Dumble, he did it first in the 80's.heisthl wrote: If so, I'm sure they sent Gil a large royalty check....

Lousy recording
It is truly amazing that a company with so many resources at it's disposal would release a video as primitive as that, for a product that they want to impress the public with.
Re: PV D style
I tried to find some information about this amp at Peavey and there is nothing mentioned.
Just a few forums talking about them.
The video was from 12-08 and they're talking like they are already taking orders.
Weird.

Re: PV D style
Doesn't sound like any of the Dumble sounds I like. I don't think it sounds horribly bad... until he says it's meant to sound like a Dumble. May also be a poor speaker choice for D sound but I don't know what he's using.
Re: PV D style
It's hard to tell with the crappy sound they have on the video.
The guitar also may not be ideal with that amp. Kind of a tele clone with a maple top.
I'd like to hear it with a Fender Espirit or similar.
Still kind of weird that Peavey doesn't have any info out about it.
