Searching for a clearer TL806 drawing.
I'm sorry 'cause I know that the problem is my incapability to read the usual drawing at
http://archives.telex.com/archives/EV/B ... 0Plans.pdf
but I'm struggling to understand how's the internal structure is built...
Any of you has some pictures, alternative views, hand drawn schemes of this cabinet?
Thanks a lot
Max

The internal structure is the bracing for the inside. They also are used for attached the rear panel and baffle. Those are nice boxes and I used the 15L version for years as my main PA cabinets.
That is about the best drawing you will find and is exactly the same as the drawing that EV used to mail on request.

You build the 4 sides up first and then install the internal bracing (at least that is the way I built them) and then install the port shelf followed by the rear panel and baffle.
I would not use the port cover, not needed with guitar.

They're not the best pics, but maybe you'll see something that'll help you.

thanks Gary, now it's clearer, my doubt was how to build up the internal bracing.glasman wrote:You build the 4 sides up first and then install the internal bracing (at least that is the way I built them) and then install the port shelf followed by the rear panel and baffle.

Nice cab, how's the Boogie compared to the EV or Dumble?argonaut wrote:They're not the best pics, but maybe you'll see something that'll help you.
The Boogie seems to go fairly low $...
Re: Searching for a clearer TL806 drawing.
I think the Boogie is the EV...or at least extremely close.massygt6 wrote:Nice cab, how's the Boogie compared to the EV or Dumble?

Re: Searching for a clearer TL806 drawing.
My only experience has been with the Boogie cabs. I had a pair of them quite a few years ago. One had an EVL and an MC90 was in the other. Both Great sounding cabs. I especially remember getting more compliments from soundmen on those cabs than any other cab I've ever owned. There's been quite a few..haha Must mention, though, that I've never tried a D-amp through one.massygt6 wrote:Nice cab, how's the Boogie compared to the EV or Dumble?argonaut wrote:They're not the best pics, but maybe you'll see something that'll help you.

I drew up a diagram before I parted with them to later build a couple. Years later when I got the actual 806 plans, the only difference I could see between those plans and my hand-drawn ones is that the Boogie's outside dimensions are different. I suspected perhaps they changed them slightly to make the cab the same width as their 'shorty' heads. At least the ones I had.

Re: Searching for a clearer TL806 drawing.
So is this a Thiele cab?
Do the dimensions for the EVM 12L cab work well for guitar?
They call it a bass box on the plans.
Since I have the EVM 12L speaker now. would this cab work well?

Yes, I think they work very well for guitar and with other speakers also.Structo wrote:So is this a Thiele cab?

Interesting, so both speakers (cl80 and Ev) worked well in the thiele...the Ev is what is made for, but the Classic Lead is somewhat a surprise...I really like it only in open back cabs...otherwise to my ears it sounds a bit sterile and cold.argonaut wrote:My only experience has been with the Boogie cabs. Re: Searching for a clearer TL806 drawing.
I currently have the EVM12L paired with a WGS CL80.
Sounds pretty good to me, I just need a better cab.
