Since may 08 I am the happy owner of a Ceriatone Ots. After some serious modding of this amp I had one big desire; a tube fx-loop aka d*mblelator.
1 1/2 month ago I tried one of a ampgarageboard-member (Airniles) see topic: https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=6927who's living in the Netherlands. It was such a nice experience, the d-lator added nice harmonics, compression and makes the od sound real sweet.
So I decided to build one myself. Sourcing parts was time consuming.
I finished it at Christmas eve and gigged it this weekend. It's really nice, also without effects! No hum, very little noise when set to max. Also kept the filament wires a little bit apart from the rest of the wiring.
Tomorrow the lettering is done, with some volunteering of Airniles.
Many thnx to Funk; with his tutorial it's easy! Also thnx to Airniles who came up with the powersupply for EU and also volunteered to help me with the lettering.
Here some building pics:

Hey Erwin,
Looks like a nice build.
Do you have concerts in the near future?
I really would like to here your OTS with dumbelator.
btw what mods did you do to the OTS?
greetings from Belgium.

Re: D-lator build
The lettering was the only thing I didn't DIY. Airniles did the lettering real neat. He used Letraset. It's old skool rubbing the letters on.Structo wrote:What did you use for the lettering?
Looks nice!
Re: D-lator build
Looks good.
How did that transformer go with the heater voltages? I'm finding it difficult to find a suitable one here(Australia 240v), that will fit into a 1U rack case.

Re: D-lator build
I used the same as Airniles; Amplimo 1N242. It's designed for more pre-amp tubes, so there's a 2,2 ohm (3w) resistor(in serie) to drop the voltage to 6,3 v.nickm57 wrote:Looks good.
