Re: Siemens EL34s
Hi, I checked out your youTube clip. Nice sound! What kind speaker and cabinet are you using? I thought about buying the Tungsram in the Sale/Trade forum but did not want to spend the big $ at this time. I have found a few gems on ebay along with a few duds. It seems like you have to take your chances these days

I am using a 2x12 convertible cab from Weber, in the closed back configuration with 2 scumback M75 65 watters. Now that I listen back the clip, the amp seems a bit more tame then I am used to. I think that is because the cab was pratically aimed at the back of my calves. If I had been a bit further away, the guitar/amp would not have behaved so nicely... in a good wayDustyBadlands wrote:Hi, I checked out your youTube clip. Nice sound! Where you stand relative to your amp(with this amp) makes a big difference. Watch Glen's videos and notice how he uses his body/guitar position to his advantage.

Re: Siemens EL34s
In all fairness to myself, all you had to do is tell me you wanted to return it to me for one that doesn't squeal. Instead you complain here? This is BS.strato17 wrote:Here is the video... the mic still overloads a bit. Make sure you watch it in high quality!

At the beginning, listen for the high pitched squeal. That would be a Tungsram 12AX7 that I bought off a member on this forum at a premium, which was guaranteed to be low in microphonics. When I inquired about the excessive microphonics problem, I was given a link to purchase a tube damper from their website, which was also being sold at a premium.
I love the sound of the Tungrsam, but I will either need to get some kind of damper for this one, or drop the change on a new one
My policies are not any different than Mike at KCA or any other dealer. All you had to do was ask,,,instead you said you were going to keep it for a different amp because it sounded so good and asked about a tube damper. Send it back and I will send you one which does not squeal. Really simple bro.

Ok... we got it all squared away now. Thanks for the help, tejas.
