I got some samples, including the new alnico and the neo model too.
I wasn't thrilled with either, and sent them to Scottl for his thoughts. I'd love a killer neo for a jazz project I am working on, but so far, nothing floats my (our) boats.....

the Neo's, Jets, etc suck! They sent me like 10 speakers to demo, the only one I liked was that MOD 12-110, and I REALLY liked it!

Surprised the hell out of me, I usually don't like inexpensive speakers, but i found these very smooth, and not at all coney sounding (Like alot of the jensens) and quite articulate- at the OEM/Dealer price it's totally worth a try!

The Tornado is actually not bad after it gets broken in, but it is VERY linear and lacks low end.

What happend to the Speaker Warehouse!! For the money CRUSHED!! any of the Jensens..I have a pair of his lead 80 clones in one of my test cabs that to me sounds and feels better than the Chinese Celestion 80's..
a rounder more focused bottom.. That was the speaker that was in my Toneblender at the NJ Amp show.. I think I paid $35.00 for that speaker..

It's warehousespeakers.com and they're still around. I too bought 4 of their speakers when they were really cheep, I love 'em. Today the prices range from $65 to $225 per but still a great value.

I have a 2x12 half open back with 1 V30 and 1 G12H from warehouse. It's amazing, huge and fat with nice smooth highs. I've heard good reports on their ET65 which is the 12-65 sound alike for $65.

Bob
Have you done an A/B with the G-12H's and WAREHOUSE SPEAKERS ET-65's

No, I did an A/B with the V30 but it was a different cabinet so all bets are off. The Lopo line cab really don't sound that great, sorry lopo. I think Normster may have done an A/B with the ET65

I would have to amen the Jensen Mod 12/110, as I use them in a cab and like them a lot. But if you want the big fat tone, get EVM12L.
