el34 and reverb
I was wondering if dumble has ever made an el34 powered amp, and had reverb in it, like an odsr el34? does anyone have the ability to run a d'lator with both an 80's 6l6 model and compare it to how it sounds with the hrm el34 models? I am asking because of interest in playing some hendrix tunes with verb like the studio albums, but with the el34 crunch.

I don't believe such an animal exists as an overdrive reverb- there are very few of them out there and all the one's I've seen had 6l6 tubes, that being said, an HRM with EL34's sounds great, and there are quite a few of those, no reason it wouldn't sound good with reverb-

I agree to Brandons observation: Never met an ODSR with EL34 and never have heard of on.
But as far as I know Jimi did use a Fender Twin for some of his recordings (e. g. "Electric Ladyland"). So you could try to use one of the ODSR equipped with 6L6 and still might have a small chance to get the Hendrix "studio" sound.
Small, because his playing (for my ears and heart) was from a different Galaxy anyway and not depending on any special gear (IMHO).
That's why I always liked the way SRV played Jimi's tunes. He allways did it in in his own manner and style and never tried to copy him (as some Hendix "clones" do) but to honour him with his own way to interprete Jimis music. And I never missed the EL 34 crunch when SRV did Voodoo Child or Little Wing.
And - last but not least - I think it's a myth anyway that you need an EL 34 amp to get a good cruch. One of the very early ODS I know ( this e. g. because this is a Dumble place) has one of the best crunch sounds I know of.

I like both the way a 6l6 sounds and the way a el34 sounds...I would like to eventually have the ability to have both types of amps on stage with a switch pedal to allow me to choose what sound I am looking for both with and without verb engaged; think of what machine gun would sound like with both od's in feedback land. a little sunshine and anythings possible

there's two completely different beasts with the el34 and the 6l6, especially in feedback. I have spent many many hours(most before I could actually play the guitar) discovering where in the sound field ie where in the dumble bubble with the master at or above 7 and the pre above 6, you find the different sweetspots to get certain harmonics to jump out more than others...and yes the x,y,z position of the guitar does effect these things, however the tube is the sound. the 6l6 is a lot more forgiving on the higher end and there is a lot more movement in the "bubble" to get the sound you want, whereas the el34 seems to be a lost faster into od'ing and this makes the movement in the bubble more noticable esp in the high end. When I have two amps with two different tube types, ie marshall and 6l6 ods with an a/b pedal and both are engaged I tend to like to follow the ods and find the sweetspots that can get the e & a strings to drone in different ways, and the marshall is really good at kinda topping off the sweet smooth bass rich ods with articulated squealing high end. I actually paid for the midi file of machine gun that was transposed from the boj tabbook. When taken into ableton and assigned to battery for the drums, and a synth for bass I can have a backup band that I'm not afraid to embarrass. this has allowed for me to spend countless hours teaching myself feedback. if my only mic wasn't attached to a headset for rosetta stone I would try to record some of this for you to hear.
