Hi Dana,

If you ever sell a whole kit, do let me know.
My local voltage supply is 240v , not sure if that matters that much. Or I can have Nik wind me a transformer but I'll need some specs.

Thanks.

I think the Hammond 269ax is either 120 or 240v. For those guys who want to get their own parts on order, I have an uncomplete BOM with all of the caps and resistor values finished. I will try and get the rest of it finished up over the weekend. I am planning on putting together a cap kit of all caps needed, maybe a resistor kit, Tube kit, Pot kit and a power supply kit. I don't have any plans at this time to stock the Trannys as this would be a little expensive.

All of the signal caps are CDE polyester just like their bigger cousins the PVC and PS series orange Drops. The .0022 is a Zicon polyester as I don't think CDE makes one of that value in the same series. At any rate, they fit the spacing on the board and sound close to the Orange drops IMHO. There are 2 sets of holes for the signal caps on the board and you can use one set for the CDE's or use the wider spacing if you want to go with a Mallory 150 series 250v. I have included a pic of the boards with the cap kit installed that I plan to offer and another of an almost finished board that is missing only the OT and Mosfet for the Built in VVR.

I also hope to have one of the boards fired up this weekend so I'll report back after getting it going. If the board works with no problems I will be ready to start shipping as soon as Monday next week.

Update

I am still waiting on trannys so I decided to go ahead and use a 125c I had laying around and installed the board in the prototype chassis last night. It fired up first time with out any problems. 8) I wasn't able to crank it as it was late but the built in VVR gave me a little prelude to what I might expect when I get home from work this evening.

I had to make an adapter to fit the physically larger 125c onto the board but I got it shoe horned on there. I'll try and post pics tonight and maybe a sound clip if I get a chance. The board seems quiet with no noise issues. I had to find a place to add the 100 ohm resistors pseudo CT for the heater winding. Maybe if I get away from the off the shelf Hammond Tranny I can have one made with a CT. I am still waiting on my chassis guy to finish the chassis. I also started working on a face plate and cabinet design.

Anyone who is on the list and wants a board, tubes, Caps and/or pots let me know and I can ship those items now (just PM me and I can give you a price on what I have in stock). For everyone else that wants as complete a kit as possible, I am still waiting on my chassis guy. Switches, fuse holder and misc parts can be bought locally at you nearest Radio shack.

I don't have any left for sale at the moment. I'll post here when I order another round.

I'm late to this party, but I would like to jump in on the next round and get a board and other parts, next time you build an order.

Guys, if you have trouble finding Hammond, check Angela, they carry a lot in stock. http://angela.com

I got the blank chassis from my sheet metal guy on Friday, so I have those in stock now for anyone who wants the chassis. These have no holes. I have been working on getting one mocked up so I can get a drilling guide made up. Just a heads up if you mount the board the same way I did you will need to have some way to cut the large rectangle opening in the top of the chassis. I use a Dremel with the thin cut off wheels. You will go through a few of them getting the cutout made in the chassis. Teh rest is just round holes except for the iec connector. I will try and post pics of the chassis this evening

Here are some pics of the blank chassis and a few of the mocked up chassis I just finished up. I will make some drawing from my measurements for anyone wanting to do it the way I am. It will be interesting to see what you guys who have your own chassis come up with.

The opening in the top of the chassis was cut using a dremel and the thin cutoff wheel disks. There are tabs left in each corner to allow mounting of the PCB in the chassis. Notice the notch in the top shot where the cliff jack needs clearance to install the board in the chassis. It is a close fit but it works well. The board is 4" x 8"
