Chassis & Board questions

So I'm able to use the equipment at the shop I work at to build an ODS chassis and board's and I have some questions for all you experts & non experts.

1) Is there a template or layout for punching all the holes in the chassis?(front and rear panel & all the holes for mounting the boards and the grounds, tube sockets)or do you just eyeball everything?

2) how do you layout all the hole's on the boards?Again do you dry mount all your caps and resistors and mark where they go?

Any help on this would be great.

I draw it up with Visio using actual component dimentions. Once I have it done I print it out, tape it to the board and drill on the drill press.

I don't know if you checked in the Files section but there is quite a bit about #124.

I also don't know if the layout is to scale but you could print it out as Bob mentioned to scale then mark your fold lines and such.

If you're only doing one make the box and mark and drill the holes - leave a minimum of 1.25" between controls. Much quicker than plotting where to punch on the flat sheet.

Ditto - although I glue it to the board with Elmer's white glue then wash off the paper and the glue with warm water after I've done the drilling.

Here's a front and back panel someone posted here a while back. I changed some things on it to fit a chassis I had but if it helps, have at it. As it sits the spacing for the impedence switch is tight, those big switches may not fit. Lorlin's work fine.
