This thread could probably have been posted in the Garage Talk area but I thought it’d be interesting for all Dumble fans.
In the 1985 Guitar Player interview, HAD says that his father developed, “one of the first automatic transmissions”. Low and behold, there is a patent filed in 1934 by inventor William H. Dumble of Bakersfield, California for an, “automatic variable speed transmission”.
There are other patents filed under the same man as well.
