Hi guys,
I'm scratch building a chassis to the "teaked" D'Lite schematic that gets seen around here every so often. I traced the chassis vs the schematic, fired it up, tested voltages. Everything looks good so far. Plate voltages on the pre-amp tubes are in line (around 178 V on V1 and V2, 2xx V on V3), plate voltages for power tubes look fine (405 V). Bias is set in range (22 ma using 6V6's). I get no sound, though. Speaker cable is good (tried it on another D'Lite). I swapped in a good PI and good set of power tubes
I guess before I start debugging I thought I'd ask if anyone had a good procedure for where to start. Appreciate your input.
Cheers,
Mark.

No sound as in not even an indication thats its on from putting your ear in the speaker?

I'll have to put my ear right up to the speaker, but I don't think anything's coming out. Which is to say, volumes on 10, guitar plugged in, speaker plugged in and dead silence.heisthl wrote:No sound as in not even an indication thats its on from putting your ear in the speaker?

disconnect the output transformer from the speaker jack, ohm it, then use clipleads on a new jack - you have a short somewhere.

Found it! I had the two output jacks wired incorrectly so it was basically grounding the output. Duh.heisthl wrote:disconnect the output transformer from the speaker jack, ohm it, then use clipleads on a new jack - you have a short somewhere.
Thanks for the help.
I'll have to post pictures of this new chassis layout when I get the face and back plates. It came out really nice -- I realize it's not exactly like a Dumble in that I moved the input volume next to the other pots, rearranged the 3 switches slightly and widened the chassis a bit, but I think it looks good.
Thanks again,
Mark
