I've been sketching up plans for a tubes-down head cab a la #124, and recalled some earlier discussion about the internal temperatures getting quite high.
Adding a fan is one option, but has anybody tried using an internal baffle as shown in the attached drawing to improve the airflow?

Not sure what you mean by internal baffles.
But, my head cab from Reason has four round holes on the front.
They are approx 1 1/4" and there are two at each end of the baffle board.
There is a black cane type cloth over them. So in theory it is supposed to provide ventilation by convection I guess.
I think having vents on top a la Marshall would be better.

Structo, thanks for the comment. The internal baffle is the heavy line with the ~45 degree bend in it. I also thought about letting air in from the front, and this is really the same idea, i.e. forcing the convection flow to move from front to rear across the entire chassis (dashed line) instead of just doing a quick in and out near the rear panel.
My thought was that with a front inlet the grille cloth would cause a restriction, and most of the flow would still be near the back panel. Also, if air does flow through the front grille, the cloth might become clogged with dust. This would further restrict the flow and require cleaning.
