Can you point out the c7 cap?

I really need to get some books and learn how to read a schematic because I have no clue what c7 is except c,e,g and b flat!!!
R denotes Resistor as in R1 10K would mean a 10,000 ohm resistor.

C denotes capacitor as in C1 .01 would mean a .01 microfarad capacitor.

Here is a handy chart you can print out.

I have the same amp. (A friend of mine found it in rubish!!! )

Tonight, i´ll open it and take some pics to help you locate the snubing cap in the 6V6 and the "tonestack" arrangement.

This is the schecmatic for the previous version of this amp.
The cap in the 6V6s is not there, as the "tone-stack"..
Most of people said is a best sounding amp...

Cool! Thank you! I knew there might be something wrong with that schematic. I discovered that most of the problem is that the Hamer just isn't as bright as the prs. I put the jensen c12r back in and it has more high end however I like the tone of the g12h30 because it adds about twice the volume and more bass and low mids. Its the only speaker Ive ever put in and said this is night and day. If I can just add more flexability with the tone I'll have a perfect amp.

I tell you as far as low watt warm amps that gibson has no equal to me. It is beautiful sounding and I love the reverb and trem!

What does it cost to buy a 12 watt dual 6v6 PTP amp with tube reverb and trem nowdays? Around $1500? I found the gibson at a pawn shop for $125 four years ago. I put new 6eu7's I found JAN on ebay NIB for $30 for all of them and I had a set of NOS sylvania 6v6's and its set. I did put new sprague atoms in last spring. Its really killer. Mine is just like yours choco. I saw your pics when you got it. Mine is very close to mint shape-even the grill is new looking!

If the c12r have more highs, but need more botton, try changing C12 (.0019 for a more cool value.... maybe .022, just like the previous version.

The C12 is the cap conected to PIN 6 in V1.

In mine, reverb don´t work. I think the reverb transformer is dead. Someday, have to fix it....

what does the .022 cap that goes from the ground of the tremolo speed to the on/off switch do?

Its a black beauty and I'd like to use it in my guitar if its non essential to the tone of the amp. What range of values could be used for it?

Yesterday open the amp and check some mods. I take some pics, but for any reason, my job computer don´t let me use my Photobucket account... :?

1.- the .002 cap in the 6V6 plates is solder betwen the PIN3 of the two tubes. In my amp is a .001uf one. I remove it. A really subtle effect... just a little more highs.

2.- Change the c12 (.001) for a .022 and eliminate the "tonestack" arrangament. In fact, all the elements are in a Sprague piece, similar to a cap, but with 3 leg. One imput, one output and one to ground.
This 2 changes rise the total gain to very hight levels..... too much.
I put it all again...

maybe, just changing the .001 for a .022 could be enought for a mid boost.
The c22 phase inverter imput cap (500pf), is another good place to play with.

i´ll be back

here, the pics:

the brown square just under the big Sprague cap is the "tone stack" arrangament.

The ceramic cap betwen the to 6V6´s scokets is the .002 cap (.001 in mine)
