Here is my latest toy. A bit of a radical departure for me, no reverb, no loop etc. It does sound great!! 100 watts, 6L6's. BTW the CF resistors have been replaced with the "Holy Dales".
And you make me i'll.. whenever i feel good bout my last build someone has to post stuff i cant get near doing yet:) but one day... BTW.. are those xicon caps? how you like them compared to real oj's?

Yes those are XICON's. A combination of MPP and PP caps. They sound pretty good. I don't think they are as big sounding as the OD 715's and 716's I have used in the past. Part of it could also be that I normally use a .01uf -> 250K mid section and this amp uses a .047uf -> 100K. As such the knee of the mid range control cuts a bit (or a lot) of the bass out.
But overall I am very very pleased with the tone. The OD just sounds right out of the box, no tweaking (at least yet).
I would like to build another one and use PS caps to compare the tone.
I will post some clips this weekend. Now it is time to go build a cabinet to house the beast. This is going into a 1x12 combo cab.

Yeah.. i kinda hate the .1 OJ's for size:( i have a bag of xicons laying around i never used... will have to try them in something soon:) and OD that sounds just right outa the box? hmmm And when do we get a nice full layout of this gem?
Thanks Dominik. This was about the easiest amp I have built. From cutting the boards to soldering the last connection it was less than a 1 week of spare time.
What are these Holy Dales?
I am referring to the Vishay Dale RN65 resistors. They appear in the later Dumble amps.
I see you have some sort of high pass filter before the OD input trimmer. What value do you use for the cap?
Right now it is a .022uf in parallel with a 4M7 resistor. Trims the bass a touch going into the overdrive section. I may remove it as I experiment more with the amp. It seems to work pretty well.

You've outdone yourself on this build. Very neat and clean. Any sound clips in the works? We'd all love to hear it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bob, and I hope to record a couple of clips tomorrow. I am in the middle of the woodworking part and hope to have the cabinet done tomorrow. 1x12 loaded with an EVM 12L.
